| Thought for Nov 3, 1997 : Fix Our Eyes Often times we approach worship as a musical act that raises vocal and physical lauds to the Lord. Occasionally, we relate worship to the broader definition of living life as a completely honest person - loving God with our expression of integrity, exampled out through our own lives. There is, however, a musical component of worship that highlights our deepest convictions and articulates our most heartfelt emotions. Music has an uncanny power to unlock many levels of a persons awareness mentally, emotionally, physically, and even spiritually. The following Scripture is a wonderful encouragement for us to place our worship in the one direction it should always go- to Him. So as you worship, whether it be through life or through a musical expression in a moment, let us continue to point to back towards Him. Hebrews 12:1-2 1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. 2 Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
